Designing Mentoring Communities for Boys of Color

Our Mentoring Communities connect youth and adults most proximal to a school's problem with peer mentors, trained & equipped with the proper supports to improve desired outcomes. Mr. G specializes in designing mentoring communities with schools & organizations who have shown a vested interest in improving the outcomes for boys of color and toddlers born into low income families.

Our mentoring communities have shown to significantly decrease chronic absenteeism rates and improve on track credit accumulation for high school student participants.  Click the button below to learn more About Mr. G and his work.

Our Mentoring Communities

My Brother's Keeper (MBK)

What would a school look like if it built a peer mentoring community for its most at-risk boys of color?  In the fall of 2016, a public high school in Queens, NY sought to answer this very question.  With our support, in one year, the collective gains of the boys were newsworthy, even grabbing the attention of former NYCDOE Chancellor Carmen Fariña.  Come learn more about how to bring MBK to your campus.

Bridging the gap, inc. (BTG)

The parent is the first teacher of the child; however, we seldom ask who is the first teacher of the parent.  BTG addresses that very question by designing with parents a Parent Learning Community where parents can receive peer coaching, resources, tools and support from a collection of parents committed to closing the Thirty Million Word Gap:  the greatest crisis in early childhood development today.
